Boulder Bookstore/Buckingham Building
This bookstore has been a fixture on the Boulder Mall since 1991. Ahead of its time in the area of energy conservation, this project shows that simplicity results in longevity. We used commercial-quality evaporative coolers and historical-looking light fixtures with high efficiency lamps to create an environment substantially unchanged for 20 years.
Hot Yoga Studios (Bikram Yoga)
"Hot yoga" studios are unique in their requirement for uniformly high temperature and humidity. We are very sensitive to minor changes in temperature. A very few degrees difference when a sweating, scantily clad person moves from a standing to a lying position is extremely affective; not to mention providing adequate ventilation whether there are 10 or 30 people in class.
